Japan Diary, introduction

Tyrone Pardue is a 4th Dan Wadoryu under Shiomitsu Sensei and Iwasaki Sensei of the Wadoryu Karate-Do Academy in Europe. He is a former Irish, European and American Kumite champion and is currently the Federation European Wado-Kai Kata Champion (2000 & 2001). He has been a Wadoryu practitioner since 1973.

In August 2002, after 3 years of preparation, he travelled to Japan to participate in the International Wadoryu Karate-Do Federation World Championships. Accompanied by Sensei Yoshihiko Iwasaki 7th Dan Kyoshi-Shihan, one of Europe's top Wadoryu teachers, he met with many renowned martial-arts masters while attending Ohtsuka Sensei's 20th Memorial reception in Tokyo. He also visited Wadoryu's honbu dojo in Tokyo and trained there with grandmaster Jiro Otsuka.
