WadoWorld Manifest

Wado
For the purposes of WadoWorld: wado can be defined as a philosophy and technical martial art of Japanese origin.

There is no ultimate truth
Assuming that the ultimate truth doesn't exist, the site facilitates different views and opinions. Whether or not the content is according to general opinion is irrelevant.
However: Historical wado will be dealt with as verifiable fact. Although wado technique is well documented this should not necessarily exclude individual variation for comparative purposes. While commentary is possible on historical, technical and philosophical matters relating to wado only, speculation or conjecture should clearly be presented as an opinion.

Wado evolves
As Otsuka-O-sensei stated, wado is never finished. As Wado will allways evolve, so will the website. The site will never be finished.

The site is not a dojo
The site is meant to be a reference, a resource, not a how-to manual on learning Wado. The place to learn wado is in the dojo. The website is merely a collection of wado knowledge that can contribute to a better understanding of the wado system.

The site is independent
The site is not affiliated, and never will be affiliated to any wado or karate organisation. However, its contributors and collaborators can be affiliated personally to an organisation.

Anyone can contribute, anyone can collaborate
Anyone feeling the urge to collaborate or contribute to the site is welcome to do so. However, all contributions will be evaluated by the site editors before publishing. Contributions may be refused.

No flaming
Matters of historical fact and record of wado may be published. While articles and opinions on matters of historical, philosophical and technical nature may be sought from practitioners and published. Opinions, conjecture or speculation on inflammatory, defamatory or pejorative matters of a personal nature concerning wado practitioners is specifically against the policy of wado world.

Contributions
Any contribution to the site should be:
1:Of high quality
2:Relate to karate in general and/or wado specifically
3:Should be original in the sense that it brings information not yet available on the site.

Content evaluation
Content is evaluated by the site editors, based on the content requirements. Editors may require adaptations as to make the content meet requirements.

Site Editors
Anyone can apply to be a site editor. However, there will be only a limited number of editors. The existing editors will decide whether or not to add another editor. Editors can and will invite others to contribute or to become an editor.

Non-profit
The site is strictly non-profit. However, the site can earn money by selling add-space. All turnover will be used to cover the costs and for investments into the site.
